What's the reason for Caleb, Achsah and Othniel story?

+1
−3

In Joshua 15:16-19, it is related a short episode of Caleb, Othniel and Achsah. In Judges 1:12-15, it is related the same story (almost copy paste).

Why do you think this story was considered significant enough so that Joshua wrote it down (in his book)?

This question is very broad and subject to personal opinion (one could ask why any passage in the bible was included). It could be improved by asking for historical interpretations of the passage. Sigma‭ 28 days ago

@Sigma I think this is an unusual story for the book of Joshua. You don't find this kind of stories in his book except this place. artaxerxe‭ 28 days ago
