Why did the early Christians refuse to bow down to the King? I don't understand the exact objection in bowing down to the King, which is a universal practise in line with the Bible (Rom 13) and does not seem to violate monotheism, as it is not a worship of him as God, but simple worship or reverence as King. I have the art of narrative, haven't read it, however I can't be sure if all these books will directly address and classify various genres. I am reading Cambridge Introduction to Narrative.
